*disclosure: my family and I were invited out to the Witte with fellow San Antonio bloggers to help facilitate this review. All words and opinions are honest and my own
As a mom of a 10 year old mini man who’s intrigued with the inner workings of the human body (most recently the digestive system) when I heard that the Witte Museum’s latest limited engagement exhibit, Grossology, was here in town, I knew that we’d have to make at least one trip out to experience it.
True to it’s name, Grossology is just that, “the impolite science of the human body. Sometimes it’s sticky, sometimes it’s crusty and sometimes it’s slimy. Explore why your body produces mushy, oozy, crusty, scaly, and stinky gunk. Based on the best-selling book, “Grossology”, this exhibition uses sophisticated animantronics and imaginative exhibits to tell you the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more!”
All the snotty, crusty, gassy inner workings of what makes us up on the inside. This interactive, hands on exhibit draws kids in with it’s brightly colored displays, interesting facts that are at the same time fascinating and cringe worthy, touch and smell stations, and even pinball machines, a climbing wall and more! I can’t describe it any more accurately than mini man did saying, “it’s like and inappropriate arcade!” Yup, a science loving boys dream.
Have a mini that’d just totally eat this stuff up or want to check it out for yourself (trust me, the hubbs had as much fun as the minis!). I have a couple ways for you to see all that it has to offer while saving a few dollars!
First, plan on heading over on FREE TUESDAY’S when the museum offers FREE admission from 3-8 pm and then purchasing your tickets to Grossology, the money you save on general admission makes up for the special exhibit price OR you can enter below to win a pair of general admission tickets to the Witte for yourself and a lucky guest! *please note that these passes are general admission only and do not include the Grossology exhibit
Good Luck!
